Charlene Y. Howie

Charlene Y. Howie, age 57 of Faribault, MN passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Allina Health Faribault Medical Center following a brief illness.

Charlene Yvonne, the daughter of Francis “Sonny” Velishek and Marcelle (Ozmun) Babcock, was born on August 2, 1967 in Faribault, MN. Charlene grew up in Faribault before moving to Albert Lea. She later moved back to Faribault. She provided an in-home daycare before working for Sheldahl and for Harry Brown’s in car detailing. When she wasn’t working, Charlene loved gardening, cooking, and watching Lifetime. She also loved spending time with her family and attending parades.

Charlene is survived by her daughters, Kendra (Paul) Myrom, Felicia Howie, Keara Howie, and Nicole Glor; 12 grandchildren; brother, Gerald Velishek; stepfather, Stanley Babcock; half-siblings, Tamara (Michael) Ross and Timothy (Kali) Babcock; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marcelle; father, Francis; and grandson, Bryson Hennen. 

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, Faribault.
