Catherine A. Culhane

Catherine A. Culhane, age 97, of Faribault, MN, passed away January 27, 2024, following an extended illness.

Catherine Agnes was born on February 8, 1926, in Lonsdale, MN, the daughter of George and Frances (Sheridan) Mach.  She was united in marriage to Charles A. Culhane on September 5, 1944, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, MN.   Catherine was a homemaker and later worked in the kitchen at Bethlehem Academy from 1979 – 1988.  She took great pride in her home and was very resourceful caring for the many details to keep everything looking nice.  For many years she loved canning from her large garden.   She also took up upholstery and embroidery. Catherine loved caring for her grandchildren and attending many of their activities.   She loved to read, kept a journal for many years, and enjoyed floral arranging.  She was active with the Immaculate Conception Rosary Society and was a lifelong member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, David Culhane (Nancy), Donna Slinger (Joe), and Chuck Culhane (Marsha); son-in-law, Stanley Keough; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Feneis, Delores Barta, and Joanne Wall; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, George and Frances; daughter, Darlene Keough; son, Danny Culhane; great grandson, Griffin Velishek; three brothers, Eugene, William, and Donald Mach; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Barta and Clem Wall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
