Carolyn Passer

Carolyn P. Passer, age 94 of Faribault, passed away, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with the Rev. Henry Doyle, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault. Following the interment there will be a gathering at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to Hope United Methodist Church in memory of Carolyn.

Carolyn Pauline Passer was born in Lakefield, MN on July 11, 1920, the oldest of three children of Dr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Passer. The family moved to Faribault in 1932, where Carry attended school, graduating in 1938. She attended Westmar College in LeMars, IA and briefly taught elementary school. She later returned to Faribault, working for some years at the Faribault Regional Center. She was her mother's companion through her mother's golden years. She lived on in their home after her mother's death in 1967 until she moved to St. Lucas Care Center in 2011. Carry was a longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church.

Carry enjoyed gardening, baking, family reunions and holiday get-togethers. She loved playing Scrabble and Bingo. Her favorite colors were pink and orange and Carry loved collecting snowmen of all kinds. Carry always remembered family members' birthdays with a card and a gift, which often included a $2 bill. She enjoyed taking drives with a nice restaurant as the destination.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her twin sister, Pauline Carolyn, in infancy, her parents, Dr. Clarence Passer and Esther Nauman Passer, her brothers, Burton and Harold, and her niece Katie Passer Zechmeister. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Passer, nieces, Jean, Judy, Gloria and Mary, grandniece, Christie, grandnephews, Dan, Scott and Ben and great grandnephew, Trent.
