Carolin “Carol” Moriarity, age 78, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her home.

Carolin Jean was born on June 15, 1946, in Faribault, the daughter of Oscar and Gertrude (Bakko) Olin. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1964. Carol was married to Robert Swanson and later divorced. On November 4, 1976, she was married to Al Moriarity at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior. Carol worked in food service for many years. She worked at Carleton College followed by the Faribault Regional Center until it closed. She then worked at Inisfail Childrens Home. Carol was a tremendous caregiver and provided respite care for her best friend’s son for many years. She also was very involved with Union Local 7 while she was at the Regional Center. Carol was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562 Auxiliary. Carol enjoyed cooking, reading, writing poetry, spending time with her family and friends, and most of all had a great love for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Al Moriarity; children, Gene Swanson (Mary), Christine Tramel (special friend, Tim Peterson), Dave Swanson (Krista), and Alan Moriarity (Ashley); eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; niece, Jenny Finden-Watson (Martin Watson); and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Gertrude; and sister, Trudy Harper.

A special thank you to very special friends, Donna Boudreau and Jean Thomas for the compassion and care they provided to Carol. Also, to hospice nurses, Dory Hanks, and Amy Coddington, and Pastor Greg Gilbert.

Carol’s wishes were to have a private family time of remembrance.
