Caroline C. Perry (Kes), age 78 of Faribault and formerly of Hastings, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 following an extended illness, at the Milestone Senior Living Community in Faribault, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St, Hastings, MN with Fr. David Hennen officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery in Hastings.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Caroline Cecelia, the daughter of John and Lillian (Dvorak) Kes, was born on October 14, 1937 in Rice County, MN. She attended Northfield High School. In November of 1954 she was united in marriage to Orville "Buzz" Perry at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Northfield, MN. Caroline worked for many years as a waitress and bartender at the Bierstube in Hastings. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues and also traveled to many tournaments over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, the "Paper Roses". Caroline and Buzz enjoyed camping and traveled all over the United States. Buzz preceded her in death on April 15, 2004. Caroline also enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond songs, going for walks and was known for baking delicious cinnamon rolls. While living in Hastings, she was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and was a member of the CCW.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Susan) Perry of Yakima, WA and Bruce (Johanna) Perry of Hastings, MN; by eight grandchildren, Tracy, Chad, Joe, Katie, Matt, Daniel, Jeffrey and Cody; by ten great grandchildren; by her sister, Donna (Gerald) VanRyn of Faribault, MN; by sister-in-law, Kay Kes of Faribault; by brother-in-law, Myron DeGroot of Faribault, MN and by a special niece and caregiver, Wanda Leppert of Faribault, MN and by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Stacey Busch, brother, Jerome Kes Sr., sister, Leola DeGroot and nephew, Jerry DeGroot.
