Carol (Mrs. Leo) LaCanne, age 63, of Morristown, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Homestead Hospice in Owatonna, following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Carol Jean Krahulec, the daughter of George and Frances (Kubicek) Krahulec was born on April 4, 1947 in Owatonna. She graduated from Owatonna High School. Carol worked as a telephone operator for 30 years with Qwest Telephone Company in Owatonna. She married Leo LaCanne on October 21, 1989 at the St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Since she was a teenager, Carol raised rabbits for show and pets until 2002. She traveled to shows in many states over the years. Carol also loved to bake and care for her flowers. In recent years, Carol had a great love of cats. She is survived by her husband, Leo LaCanne of Morristown; brother, James Krahulec of O'Fallon, IL; aunt, Mary Moe of Bemidji, MN; uncle, Victor Kubicek of Owatonna; stepson, Ronald (Gwen) LaCanne of Faribault; stepdaughter, Rebecca LaCanne (Lyle Kline) of Faribault; four step grandchildren, Katie (Jon) Vargo, Jill LaCanne, Samuel Kline and Jennifer Kline, all of Faribault; two nephews, James Krahulec of Fairfax, VA, and John Krahulec of Leesburg, VA; three nieces, Jennifer Gorter of Oak Hill, VA, Catherine Krahulec of Belleville, IL, and Amy Krahulec of Madison, WI; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Steve Broten.
