Carol Dobson

Carol A. Dobson, age 75 of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at The Emerald’s at Faribault.

Carol Ann, the daughter of Edward and Emily (Smith) Helgeson was born on August 5, 1945 in Faribault.  She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1964.  In 1964 she was united in marriage to Alan Dobson and they later divorced.  Carol worked for 20 years at the Cheese Caves of Faribault and for 25 years worked at the front desk at the Faribault Community Center.  Carol loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren, they all brought great joy to her life.  She also enjoyed gambling and trips to the casino with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Shawn (Dan) Behrens of Faribault, Michelle (Dan) Reyome of Bellevue, NE and Alan (Teresa) Dobson of Faribault; by her grandchildren, William (Krista) Behrens, Emily (Joel) Kornhoff, Danielle (Austin) Schultz, Kate and Karlee Reyome and Sara and Seth Dobson; by her brother, Henry (Marlette) Helgeson of Owatonna, MN; by her brother-in-law, Harold Witte and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emily Helgeson and siblings, Bud Helgeson, Evelyn VanHoudt, Kay Witte and Mary Katra.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.  For those unable to attend the service will be live-streamed through a link found on Carol’s obituary page at www.parkerkohlfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
