Brian A. Thibodeau, age 54, of Faribault, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at his home following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services.
Brian Allen, the son of Marvin and Mary Jean (DeMars) Thibodeau, was born on September 28, 1958 in Faribault. Brian grew up in Faribault and attended Faribault Senior High School. Brian served in the U.S. Army after high school and also served his country during the Gulf War. After his discharge from the Army, Brian moved to Colorado and that is where he met his wife. On October 1, 1994 he was united in marriage to Karen Davis in Truckton, CO. After some time they returned to Minnesota and Brian began working as a Machine Mechanic at Ryt-Way Industries in Lakeville, MN. Brian was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Brian especially enjoyed entering fishing tournaments. Brian was a simple man who enjoyed life and its simple pleasures that came to him.
He is survived by his former wife, Karen Thibodeau of Faribault; by his five children, Allen Jay Thibodeau of Faribault, Richard (Rhonda) Poe of Fort Scott, KS, Tana Layman of Faribault, Chase Ray of Faribault and Trista (Jonathan) Berrard of Goldendale, Washington; by his brother, Marvin Thibodeau Jr. of Medford, MN and by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Terrance Allen Thibodeau and by his sister, Rosemary Karow.
