Brent M. Dubé

Brent Michael Dubé, age 41, of Faribault, MN, passed away surrounded by close family on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024.

He was a son, brother, cousin, and good friend to many who loved him.

Brent was born in Northfield, MN, in 1982. From an early age, he had a passion for all things “nerdy.” Brent loved action figures, superheroes, goblins, elves, and more. He shared this adoration with everyone, always hoping to get them to “cross over to the dark side” and share his love of science fiction and fantasy. This love extended to books, movies, television shows, and video and tabletop games. Brent was excited to talk anyone’s ear off about any of these, and he was always in the know with the latest and greatest thing to read, watch, or play.

Brent’s personality shone through to all who had the joy of meeting him. His personality led to his powerful voice, which was expressed in a variety of ways throughout his life. In high school, he went to Europe with his choir, and he reveled in the resounding echoes their voices created off the stone walls of various cathedrals.

His voice went even further when he went off to college to pursue radio broadcasting. Brent was a radio announcer for a few stations, ranging from Faribault to Montana. He once had an angry listener call him because the local basketball game hadn’t finished yet, but the farmer needed the polka music to play to be able to milk the cows!

Brent was the kindest person one could ever hope to meet, generous to a fault. His hugs were known to cure the greatest of woes and heartbreaks. His expressive face could light up your whole day, especially when he found out you shared a mutual passion. His love and light shone through to animals as well, most recently with his cat, Oliver. He loved all animals and expressed that love through hugs, cuddles, and good ol’ ear scratches.

Brent is survived by his mother Mary, father Mark, brother Kyle (Rachel), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and “chosen” family.

Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, MN. The service will be held at 11am, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a reception at Parker Kohl following the service and interment.

Brent will be sorely missed by many, and the absence of his vibrant and dynamic personality will be a hole in everyone’s lives. His inherent ability to light up someone’s day is a testament to the fact that he truly had the heart of a lion. His roar will never be forgotten.
