Brenda (Schweisthal) Fischler, age 43, of Lakeville and formerly of Faribault, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her home following a long battle with Kidney cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville, MN, 19795 Holyoke Ave., with the Rev. Tom Wilson, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to services. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Brenda Valentyn Schweisthal, the daughter of Richard and Karen (Kispert) Schweisthal, was born on July 2, 1965 in Faribault. She attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1984. After high school Brenda began a 25 year career with the State of Minnesota, first working at the Faribault Regional Center and later with group homes in Eden Prairie and Lakeville. In 1987 she was united in marriage to Paul Valentyn and that same year had a daughter Ashley. They were later divorced. On August 10, 1996 Brenda was united in marriage to Scott Fischler and they made their home in Lakeville and had a daughter Emily. Brenda owned and operated her own business in Lakeville called "This and That" and sold household items and antiques. Brenda had many friends and was known for her great sense of humor and her magnetic personality. She loved and cherished her husband, daughters and all of her family and pets. She is survived by her husband Scott Fischler of Lakeville; by two daughters, Ashley Valentyn of Mankato, MN and Emily Fischler of Lakeville; by her parents, Richard and Karen Schweisthal of Faribault; by two sisters, Annette (William) Schwartz of Apple Valley, MN and Lynn (Scott) Erickson of Lakeville and by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Schweisthal and Harleigh and Grace Kispert.
