Brenda Austin, age 69, of Faribault, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with the Rev. Dennis Tamke, pastor of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday for one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to the Faribault Area Hospice.
Brenda Dale, the daughter of Harold and Sophia (Harrison) Goodwyn, was born on June 28, 1944 in Richmond, VA. Brenda graduated from Greensville County High School in Emporia,Virginia. She then moved to Alabama and graduated from North Alabama College of Commerce. After graduation she worked for the US Army - Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. During this time she met her future husband, Jerry Austin and they were married in Huntsville, Alabama. Brenda worked for over 40 years at Judd, Ostermann & Demro in Faribault. Brenda enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, shopping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Rick) Caron of Faribault and Stacy (Tracy) Ergle of Atlanta, GA; by four grandchildren, Justin Austin, Thad (Liz) Caron, Dustin Caron and Xander Ergle and by 3 great granddaughters, by her brother, Wayne (Debbie) Goodwyn of Nashville, TN and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Austin, her parents, her brother Harold Goodwyn and a son Steven Austin.
