Bonnie L. (Kolb) Kopischkie, age 69, of Faribault, MN passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Reflections Hospice Suite at Three Links in Northfield, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be on Tuesday, August 20th at 11:30 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, WI.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Bonnie Lee, was born on April 20, 1944 in Northfield to Frank and Hazel (Welch) Kolb. She was raised in Dundas, MN and graduated from Northfield High School. Bonnie attended Beauty School and Nurses Training, obtaining her LPN certification. She was married to Kenneth Kuusisto on August 14, 1965, they had two children, Kim and Kory. They were later divorced. Bonnie worked as an LPN at the Faribault Clinic for 20 years. In 1999 she moved to Chippewa Falls and worked at Hillcrest Elementary as the school nurse. On April 16, 1999 she married her longtime friend, James J. Kopischkie. They lived in Chippewa Falls until moving back to Faribault in 2008. Bonnie took great pride in being a caretaker for others, valuing her relationships with family and friends. She loved to style hair, providing cuts and perms for many. Bonnie also enjoyed traveling, often to visit her relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Kim Paddock of Northfield and Kory (Sarah) Kuusisto of Forest Lake, MN; step-daughter, Pam Kopischkie of Elk Mound, WI; grandchildren, Erik (Stephanie) Paddock, Adam Paddock, Garrett and Hannah Kuusisto, and Aaron Burgess; her mother, Hazel Kolb of Dundas; siblings, Beverly Smith, Gerald Kolb, and Donald (Mary) Kolb all of Northfield, and Donna (Paul) Albers of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kopischkie; father, Frank Kolb; and former husband, Kenneth Kuusisto.
