Bill Sietsema

Bill Sietsema, age 40, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the District One Hospital in Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Chris Smith, officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for an education fund for Carter and Rylee.

William Robert was born on February 23, 1977 in Pipestone, MN to Darwin and Sharon (Schelhaas) Sietsema. He graduated from Russell-Tyler-Ruthton High School with the class of 1995. Bill earned his Electrician Diploma from Minnesota West in 1997. He was united in marriage to Andrea Christensen on September 18, 2004 in Faribault. Bill worked for Cedar Lake Electric in Faribault for 13 years. For the past seven years, he was the Facility Manager for Aurora Pharmaceuticals in Northfield.

Bill loved everything sports - playing, watching, and coaching. He also volunteered his time to numerous sports associations - boys and girls basketball, football, and fastpitch. Bill enjoyed hunting and golfing, but most of all, the coaching of his own children's sports teams was his passion.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea and their children, Carter and Rylee; parents, Darwin and Sharon Sietsema of Ruthton, MN; grandmother, Jeanette Schelhaas of Ruthton; siblings, Brent (Jennifer) Sietsema of Tucson, AZ, and Brenda (Jared) Dagel of Ruthton; brother-in-law, Joey Christensen of Faribault; father-in-law, Chris Christensen (special friend, Sandy Weeks) of Faribault; nephews, Tyler and Trevor Dagel, Jasper, Boden, and Tatum Sietsema; niece, Josie Dagel; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Christensen; grandparents, John Schelhaas and Gordon and Martina Sietsema; and uncle, David Sietsema.
