Beverly Borg

Beverly J. Borg, age 77 of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory with Bernadette Tatge, officiating.  Interment will be held at the Crystal Lake Cemetery in Crystal Lake, IA.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Mayo Clinic Foundation in memory of Beverly.

Beverly Joan, the daughter of Ernest and Nita (Nelson) Peterson, was born on May 6, 1942 in Forest City, IA.  Her family moved to Stratford, WI when she was younger and she attended Stratford High School and graduated with the class of 1960.  After high school Bev served in the U.S. Navy and following her honorable discharge she attended community college and received her associates degree in business.  Bev worked for many years at St. John’s Care Center in Albert Lea, MN until she was hired to be the Executive Director for the Red Cross in southern Minnesota.  Later she would work at the Wilson Center in Faribault, the Quello Clinic in Burnsville and at the Mall of America and also volunteered her time at the Faribault Senior Center, most recently as the contact for funeral escorts.  Bev was married to Eble Borg and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1977.

She is survived by her children, John (Mary) Ray of Lumberton, NJ and Pamela Borg of Faribault, MN; by three grandchildren, Michelle Ray, Sarah Ray and John Ray Jr.; by three brothers, Larry (Kathryn) Peterson, Gary Peterson and Jerry (Julie) Peterson, all of Forest City, IA and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Jerry Ray.
