Bernice F. King, age 90 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Waseca with Rev. Chris Meirose, officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Meriden. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service, at church. Bernice Frances was born on May 9, 1919 in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota to Arthur and Minnie (Sell) Rosenau. She was a 1938 graduate of Owatonna High School. Bernice was united in marriage to Clarence Francis King on February 22, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Bernice and Clarence lived in the Owatonna area until moving to Pemberton in 1952. For 27 years they owned and operated King's Grocery and Produce in Pemberton. They sold their business to the Pemberton lumberyard (later became Pemberton Motor Mart), and for a short time managed the store. In 1999 they moved to Maple Terrace in Waseca. Since 2006 Bernice has resided at Colony Court in Waseca. During her time in Waseca Bernice enjoyed playing cards at the Waseca Senior Center. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Waseca. She is survived by her daughter Louise (Wayne) Hershey of Richfield, her grandson James (Tracy) Hershey of Little Falls, and her three great granddaughters Ella, Emma, and Abby. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 8, 2001, and her brother Everett, at infancy.
