Bernice J. Ewert, age 86 of Janesville, died suddenly on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her home. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Reverend Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's-Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Iosco Township, Waseca County. The Ewert Family will greet friends Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. (Memorial services and visitation will be for both Bernice and her husband Edwin, who passed away last Friday). Bernice June was born December 2, 1925 to Roy and Olive Worrell in Madison Lake, Minnesota. She was baptized in Elysian, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Bernice attended Madison Lake Schools, and graduated from Janesville High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Edwin Arthur Ewert on December 2, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Bernice and Edwin raised their family on their Alton Township farm. Bernice enjoyed her many years of employment at the Janesville Nursing Home. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Bernice enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, and puzzles. Bernice is survived by her children, Gary (Betty) Ewert of Janesville, Glenn (Sharon) Ewert of Janesville, and Lori Ewert of Waseca; by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren; by her sister, Lola Shockey of Roseburg, OR, and sister-in-law, Elsie Roemhildt of Waseca; by nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin on September 21, 2012, and her daughter, Marsha Ewert; by her parents, four sisters, and one brother.
