Beatrice "Blue" Ryan, age 72, of Waseca, died peacefully while being surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the Mayo Health Systems ~ Mankato, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca, with Reverend Norman Freeburg, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Waseca, officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also for one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Sunday.
Beatrice Faye, the eleventh child of thirteen to Noah and Lula (Flint) Puckett, was born on August 30, 1941 in Dundas, Ohio. She attended schooling and on July 7, 1956, was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Ryan in Flint Branch, Kentucky. They first moved to Ohio for a short time, and eventually settled in Minnesota. After retiring, Blue and Bob moved back to Kentucky, a place Blue truly loved, and would later return to the Waseca area to be closer to family as Blue's health began to fail.
Blue loved quilting, painting, playing cards with family and friends, and most of all, spending time with her grandbabies. She was also an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in Waseca.
Blue is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert of Waseca; her children, Jeff (Laura) Ryan of Melbourne, Australia, James (Sharon Born) Ryan of Waseca; John N. Ryan of Harrisburg, NC, and Susan (David) Ryan-Grudem of Mankato; her grandchildren, Andrew (Sara) Ryan of Chandler, AZ, Paige (Stuart) Yap of Victoria, Australia, Amanda Ryan (John Braith) of Montgomery, Elizabeth (Roy) Gibson of Shepparton, Australia, Sarah Ryan (Jackson Reynolds) of Melbourne, Australia, Gemma and Tayt Goodier, both of Melbourne, Australia, Lisa Ryan of Columbia, SC, Kristine Ryan (Kurtis Kolb) of Washburn, IL, Barbara Ryan of Bardstown, KY, John J. Ryan (Michele Oppelt) Ryan of Shephardsville, KY, Helena (Steve) Thate of Fairmont, Christine O'Hair and Ian Grudem, both of Mankato; her great grandchildren, Gavin Ryan, Kaylee Ryan, Arizona Yap, Hayden Ryan, NaShawn LaBoard, Jayden Ryan, Hailey Ryan and Aiden Oppelt; and by her many foster children, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her nine of her siblings.
