Arnold Petricka

Arnold J. Petricka, age 83, a life-long farmer in Richland Township, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at his home after an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, MN. Interment will be at the Richland Union Cemetery in Richland Township, Rice County, MN, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

Arnold J. was born to Joseph and Albina (Dedina) Petricka on the family farm on April 22, 1933. He attended School District #24 and Faribault Senior High School. Arnold served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1957 in Japan and Korea. In 1965, he married Pat Cafferty in Roseville, MN. Together they farmed and raised three children. Arnold was a supervisor on the Richland town board for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, working with wood, and feeding the birds.

Arnold is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pat; children, David (Shalinie) Petricka of Faribault, Lisa (Henry) Miltakis of Lino Lakes, MN, and Lori (Todd) Keys of Vadnais Heights, MN; grandchildren, Kylie, Stacie, and Brandon Petricka of Faribault, and Tyler Keys of Vadnais Heights; sister, Irene (Vince) LaCanne of Faribault; sisters-in-law Mary Petricka of Faribault, Kathy Price of St. Paul, MN, and Carol (John) Garceau of Roseville; brothers-in-law, Gene Cafferty of Arden Hills, MN, and Bill (Ann) Cafferty of Shoreview, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Albina; and brother, Alvin Petricka in 2004.
