Antonio Mata-Dominguez

Antonio Santos Mata-Dominguez, age 73, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 with his family at his side.

Antonio Santos, the son of Santos Mata and Guadalupe Dominguez-Villarreal was born on June 13, 1950, in Zaragoza, Coahuila. On April 13, 1968 he married the Love of his life Paula Lara in Ozona, TX.

In 1989 Antonio moved with his family to Faribault, MN. Antonio retired from Jennie O Turkey Store as a maintenance mechanic after 30+ years. After retirement Antonio and his wife Paula became Snowbirds closing up their Minnesota home each winter and heading South to their home in Mexico. 

Antonio enjoyed the outdoors, music, and socializing with family. He enjoyed sitting on his deck drinking a Coors Light while cooking on the grill with his family. Most of all, his family was his pride and joy. Antonio was Loving, Caring, and Humble. Antonio was very Loved and Respected by anyone who knew him, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Mata; seven children, Janie Mata, Guadalupe Mata, Antonio Mata Jr., Mari Cruz Sanchez, David Mata, Vanessa Mata, and Jessica Rangel; 22 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Guadalupe; and brother, Jose Eriberto Mata.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.
