Amanda (Bug) Hoiland, age 22, of Faribault, died on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the United Hospital in St. Paul, following a sudden illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault with the Fr. Kevin Finnegan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Amanda Jo Hoiland, the daughter of Brian & Bette (Berghoff) Hoiland was born on October 7, 1987 in Faribault. She attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 2006. Amanda continued her education at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. Amanda enjoyed volunteering her time and while in Marshall, she volunteered at the nursing home. She was an animal lover and was great with pets. Amanda had a great sense of humor and personality and could relate to people of all ages. Amanda was an amazing little woman, with a big heart and soul and she will be dearly missed by all who have been touched by her presence. Amanda is survived by her mother, Bette Berghoff Hoiland of Faribault; her brother, Josh Hoiland of Eagan; her paternal grandmother, Irene Cashin; special friend Ryan Gubin of Hastings and his daughter Rya; by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Brian in 2000; by her maternal grandparents, James & Lucille Berghoff; paternal grandfather, Bill Cashin; and special friend, Curtis Holter.
