Alice Schweisthal

Alice M. Schweisthal, age 92 of Faribault, MN passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Alice Maurene, the daughter of Herbert and Maurene (Brightbill) Wagner, was born on July 6, 1927 in Richardton, North Dakota.  She graduated from Taylor High School with the class of 1945, then attended teacher’s college.  Alice taught in a country school and later met and married Leonard Schweisthal on July 12, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton.  Much of her married life, Alice was a homemaker for her family.  She enjoyed gardening, bowling, loved her sweets and chocolates and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary.  Alice cherished her time with her grandchildren, playing games with them and having them help with her gardening and canning.
Alice was a religious person, very devoted to her Catholic faith.

Alice is survived by her children, Marlene (Jeff) Knack of Nisswa, MN, Dale (Georgia) Schweisthal of Faribault, Lawrence (Colleen) Schweisthal of Faribault, Gregory (Tami) Schweisthal of Faribault, Jeffery (Jolene) Schweisthal of Buffalo, MN, Brian (Theresa) Schweisthal of Faribault, and Sharon (Sean) Austin of Bend, Oregon; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents, Herbert and Maurene; son, Thomas Valentine Schweisthal; grandson, Christopher Schweisthal, and brothers, Earl Wagner and Clarence Wagner.
