Alice M. Hornemann, age 88, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Faribault, with the Reverend Steve Delzer and Reverend Allan Nelson, officiating. Interment will be at the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Alice Marie Hein, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Thede) Hein, was born on May 9, 1922 in Carroll, Iowa. On January 11, 1945, Alice was united in marriage to Marvin Hornemann in Maywood California. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2000. Alice and Marvin worked together at the Four Seasons Apartment Complex as building managers for 25 years. In 1994, Alice and Marvin moved to their daughter's house on Cannon Lake. After her retirement, Alice worked at other various places including St. Lucas Care Center and the A&W Restaurant in Faribault. She enjoyed playing cards, especially shanghai and euchre, playing board games, her nightly walks and her dog. Above all, Alice enjoyed spending time together with her family and friends. Alice is survived by her daughter, Susie (Jim) Marquardt of Faribault and their children JJ Marquardt and Misty (Ryan) Daws, both of Faribault; her son, Dennis (Isabelle) Hornemann of Madison Lake and their children Patricia (Erik) Mann of Mankato, Brad (April) Hornemann of Mankato and Scott (Dawn) Hornemann of Brownton, Minn; her great grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Michael, Skye, Kaleb, Ethan, Tristan, Maiya and Kendra; her great-great granddaughter Andrea (Cricket); her brothers, Bud (Jean) Hein of California and Leonard Hein of Oregon, and by many other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, her brothers Richard Hein and Marvin Hein.
