Agnes S. Mueller, age 98, of Faribault, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Richard L. Jorgensen, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Agnes Selma Overland, the daughter of Peter and Annie (Ness) Overland, was born on October 20, 1909 in Wolford, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and attended business college in Winona, MN. She was married to Arnold Mueller on September 2, 1933 at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church near Rushford, MN. They farmed the first few years and also sold stock feed. They moved to Faribault in 1941. Agnes had worked in food service at St. Olaf College and was a waitress at the Faribault Hotel. Arnold preceded her in death on December 2, 1963. She was a longtime member of First English Lutheran Church, teaching Tuesday School for 15 years and counting the Sunday offering for over 19 years. Agnes enjoyed fishing, dancing and traveling. She also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Golden Notes. She is survived by her sister, Mary (Loren) Bruessel of Owatonna; two nephews, Richard (Mary Jean) Halvorson of Carmel, IN, and Thomas Overland of Winona, MN; a niece, Sharon Bulinski of Dawson, MN; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Gilma Halvorson; and brother, Nordahl Overland.
