Agnes E. Caron, age 92, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at her home.
Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Agnes Elizabeth Caron, the daughter of Martin and Alice (Vandeputte) Elzen, was born on March 16, 1923. Agnes attended country school through the 8th grade. She then had to stay home and help take care of her invalid sister, Mary Alice. She married the love of her life, Edward J. Caron, on November 22, 1943 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. They farmed in the Kenyon area until September 1965 when they moved to Cannon City Township. In 1992, they bought a home in Faribault where Agnes lived until September 2013. She then moved to an apartment at Faribault Senior Living. She worked at Randy Meats for 23 years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars 1562 Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary 1460. Agnes enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards, and Bingo. She also loved working in her flower garden. She always had time for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, and her friends.
She is survived by 13 children: Pat Hinchley, Savage; Candice (Bill) Meyer, Faribault; Jean (Mike) Olson, Forest Lake; Kenneth (Linda) Caron, Faribault; June (Dan) Hanscom, Forest Lake; Al (Patty) Caron, Forest Lake; Steven (Mary) Caron, North Mankato; Lou Ann (Tim) Ryan, St. Paul; Mark (Colleen) Caron, Faribault; Roxy (Joe) Kampf, Burnsville; Brian Caron, Fort Ripley; Brenda (Pete) Hanegraaf, Apple Valley; and Lori Caron, Chaska. She is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her parents, her siblings, Henry Elzen, Cecelia Delesha, Mary Alice, and an infant sister, as well as her son-in-law, Jim Hinchley.
The family especially wants to thank Faribault Senior Living staff and the Faribault Area Hospice staff for their warm and loving care of Agnes.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations may be made to Faribault Area Hospice, American Cancer Society, or Bethlehem Academy.
